We suggest that customers bring drinks, lunch, snacks, sunscreen, fishing clothes, hats, boat shoes, beach and hand towels, sunglasses and a cooler for the fish after the trip. If you get motion sickness or seasick, please consult your physician for options that best suit your needs.

Should I tip the captain / crew?
The crew work for a daily wage and tips just like waiters and waitresses. Tips are discretionary; however, it is customary to tip the crew 15% to 20% for good service.
Is the pricing for charters per person, or for the group?
The price listed is for your entire group. You can have up to 6 people in your group. This is a private charter, therefore we do not group you with other people. It will only be your group on the boat with the captain.
Can I have more than 6 people?
No, the max we can take is 6 passengers, whether they are fishing or not. This is not our rule, it is how the U.S. Coast Guard licenses private charters. Most private charters operate under this type of licensing. If you have more than 6 people, you can charter more than one boat. If you have a large group and need help organizing multiple boats, please give us a call and we can help you get it all organized!
What should I NOT bring on my trip?
Please do not bring the following:
- Hard liquor
- Glass bottles
- Illegal substances
- Firearms
- Portable GPS – Any portable GPS found will result in immediate termination of the trip
Other Frequently Asked Questions
Are we guaranteed to catch fish?
Our captains have over 20 years of experience fishing the Ponce Inlet area and will do their best to put you on the fish. It’s important to understand that every day is different and nothing is 100% guaranteed, however it is highly unlikely that no fish will be caught on your trip.
Can I choose which fish we try to catch?
You can request to fish for certain species and we will try very hard to catch what you want. It is, however, always a better idea to let the captain take you to fish for what is hot at the time. We like to catch everything and love to hear the drag scream and see the rods bend. Every fish is awesome in our opinion!
Some people have a fish on their “bucket list”. If this is the case, please call us so that we can discuss the likeliness of catching that particular fish during the time you are planning a charter.
Is a 6-hour trip enough to catch fish?
Yes – our captains fish every day weather permitting and know where the fish are hitting. On halfdays, we typically travel between 15 to 20 miles to the fishing ground,. This means that the riding time is roughly 30-45 minutes depending on sea conditions. Most half days allow for 4 to 5 hours of fishing time.
We typically start off by going where we were catching fish on the previous day. Most of the time this works out great however, every now and then conditions do change overnight. When conditions change we can usually make a quick move or two and be right back on the fish.
Can we book a charter for a fishing tournament?
Yes, you will be responsible to pay for tournament fees and we would discuss the cost of the trip based on the species targeted and length of the trip.
